Reviews
A couple weeks back I brought my two sons to see the movie Five Nights at Freddy. We decided to go to this theater for the first time.
We arrived at the theater the same time the movie was to start. Parking was easy to find and I found the employees in the theater to be friendly.
They were fast. We were able to get our pre-purchased tickets scanned, purchase two large buckets of popcorn, two smoothies and a large drink in a matter of minutes.
I wasn't expecting the theater to be anything compared to larger cities, but the leg space definitely made things uncomfortable for me. It certainly is not designed for taller people.
We went to an afternoon showing of the movie. I expected to see the normal 5 to 8 movie previews and trailers to be shown before the movie. That amount is pretty customary in my years and years of going to the theater. Maybe a couple more for afternoon movies.
What I did not expect was to sit there for endless preview after preview. Between the cramp seating and the endless previews I was about to lose by my mind. The popcorn was basically finished before the beginning credits rolled for this film. I had never witnessed anything like. We sat there through 50 minutes of previews!!
Ultimately, the boys like the movie. I can't say it was my worst movie experience ever and I don't know if that's normal for this theater's afternoon movies. Regardless, I'd rather venture elsewhere.
Shout out to Megan Cook who helped my family of 5 (3kids) today! She was so patient, respectful and kind especially when we made so many changes to our order. Thank you for making our outing memorable!
Servers were attentive. Everyone was pitching in to clean. Bathrooms were clean. We were able to check in quickly. I will always have an issue with the prices of concessions but overall it was a great experience!
It was better than expected. Standard amenities, but good standard amenities, not run-down at all. Being spoiled by reclining stadium seating & delivery of concessions to your seat has left many expecting more than they used to. This theater is nothing less than an excellent experience in a theater like we had not so many years ago.
This theater is alwas dirty, the drinks are always out and it is always short staffed. It’s beyond disgusting in here but they don’t care because it’s the only thing to do in Wilson. I will just start driving to Raleigh for every movie again.
We went here with our family and rented a theater. It was $99 for up to 20 people and spilled my first bag of popcorn. The bathroom was clean but popcorn and everything was a little pricey.they didn't turn lights on before or after the movie like most theaters and no recliners here.. was a little disappointing but all in all it was decent.
I've seen some fun movies here in the past few years. Very sad to see the mall here and wonder what it might have looked like back in the 80s.
The staff was not very helpful in guiding us to the right theater. Each theater should be labeled with the movie that's playing not just a number.
Movie theater was so hot we were sweating the whole movie. Pure misery. They literally wouldn’t run the air conditioning and it was 95 degrees outside. Don’t go to Wilson to see a movie. Leave and go somewhere decent like Greenville. The location is awful as well. It’s all around a bad experience. It’s a dump.
I haven't had a bad experience at this AMC theater. One time, there was a crowd of rowdy kids, and management kicked them out. Kudos to them. I took off a star for the food that they serve. My brother ordered the pizza, and it didn't taste like pizza. Let's just say he went home with a terribly upset stomach :P
My husband always gets the popcorn. Obviously, the drinks and popcorn are going to be expensive because the staff needs that money!
